The scale "General Environmental Awareness" captures environmental awareness as a general belief or world view. This construct is based on a rational choice model that assumes that environmental beliefs and values are based on rational decisions. Three subscales are distinguished: intrinsic understanding of nature, instrumental understanding of nature and nature as the basis of existence.
