AB - The GQ-5-G is the German adaptation of the Gratitude Questionnaire-Six Item Form (GQ-6). This measurement was originally developed by McCullough et al. (2002). The scale measures the emotional component of gratitude. Like some versions in other languages (e.g., Bernabé-Valero et al., 2014; Chen et al., 2008; Langer et al., 2016), the GQ-5-G consists of only five items that are averaged to a mean score. The validation was conducted via an online survey with a sample of N = 508 participants. The GQ-5-G has good internal consistency and both construct and criterion validity are established. In addition, there is cultural scalar invariance with the English version (Morgan et al., 2017). GQ-5-G is scalar invariant across gender.
