The revised Five-Dimensional Curiosity Scale (5DCR) by Kashdan et al. (2020) is the most comprehensive curiosity inventory available to date. The 5DCR measures six facets of curiosity with four items each: enthusiasm to explore, deprivation intolerance, stress tolerance, general social curiosity, specific social curiosity, thrill seeking. The scale was adapted into German and validated on the German-speaking population (N = 485; Grüning & Lechner, 2022). Reliability of the six facets of the 5DCR, factorial validity, and convergent and discriminant validity were confirmed. The instrument shows at least partial scalar measurement invariance across age, gender, education, and different countries (i.e., compared with the United Kingdom).
