The fascism scale is supposed to reflect existing prejudices as well as the susceptibility to prejudices. The development of the scale is based on psychoanalytical approaches, whereby nine influencing variables are considered relevant for authoritarianism: Conventionalism, Authoritarian Subservience, Authoritarian Aggression, Anti-Intraception, Stereotypes and Superstitious Thinking, Power and Harshness, Destructiveness and Cynicism, Projectivity, Overemphasis on the Sexual.
