AB - The questionnaire for leisure
interests (FIFI; Piepenburg & Kandler, 2016) is the first German-language
instrument for adult life, which records leisure activities with regard to
their intrinsic value (leisure interest) and frequency of exercise (leisure
activity). The present short version (FIFI-K) increases the economy of the
recording while maintaining the heterogeneity of leisure activities. The FIFI-K
comprises 67 items on which the structure of leisure interest areas (21 primary
factors and 5 secondary factors) of the FIFI could be confirmed. We found good
retest reliability values for the leisure areas, convergent validity between
leisure interest and leisure activity, discriminant validity between leisure
areas, and predictive validity of leisure interests and activities for
predicting mental well-being.
