The short scale captures the construct precrastination in students. It describes the urge to complete pending (partial) tasks as quickly as possible to reduce the cognitive and, if necessary, emotional load by completing the tasks. The construct can be divided into a behavioral and an emotional level. The scale contains eight items and reflects the two levels with four items per level (although the items of the emotion level cannot be recommended without restrictions by now). The objectivity of the short scale is given for the application, evaluation, and interpretation. Both levels of the short scale for precrastination show high reliabilities. The findings of the construct and criterion validities show different patterns and serve as a basis for further research.
