With eight items, the scale measures the stimulating potential of early musical socialisation and was developed on the basis of the model of contiguity learning (Guthrie, 1952; Buchhofer, Friedrichs & Lüdtke, 1974): The significance of musical experiences and the attention and motivation devoted to them is closely linked for the child to the social situations in which they take place.
