Mental impairment and psychosomatic complaints correspond to the cognitive-emotional experience of a reduced quality of life as a long-term consequence of everyday and ongoing stressors. The theoretical basis for the scale documented here is the transactional, cognitive stress model of Lazarus (1966). The scale was developed for use in occupational health psychological research and practice.
