The scale is used to measure social desirability. This is an error influence in surveys in which people vote their responses to believe they are meeting the approval of others. The scale contains 24 items developed on the basis of different scales of the Minnnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory and the Manifest Anxiety Scale.
