The two items documented here are intended to measure (1) trust or mistrust in other people with three indicators each and (2) the assessment of general social morality or nature. According to the theory of the Berkeley Group, strongly negative attitudes towards these questions are part of a central characteristic syndrome of an authoritarian personality, for which a stable cynical, moralizing and pejorative attitude towards others across situations is characteristic.
