AB - The Cross-Cultural Loss%0AScale %28CCLS%29%2C a measure of loss associated with crossing national boundaries%2C%0Awas developed across 2 samples of international students. With Sample 1 %28%3Ci%3EN %3D%0A%3C%2Fi%3E262%29%2C exploratory factor analyses were used to select the 14 CCLS items and%0Ato determine 3 factors%3A Belonging-Competency%2C National Privileges%2C and Access%0Ato Home Familiarity. With Sample 2%2C confirmatory factor analyses %28%3Ci%3EN %3D %3C%2Fi%3E256%29%0Across-validated the 3-factor oblique model as well as a bifactor model.%0ACronbach%C2%92s alpha and omega %28Brunner%2C Nagy%2C %26amp%3B Wilhelm%2C 2012%29 of both the%0ACCLS total scale and the three CCLS subscales were acceptable to good and%0Aindicate that unweighted sum and mean scores can be computed. The validity of%0Athe CCLS scores was supported by its associations with related variables in the%0Aexpected directions. Perceived cross-cultural losses were positively associated%0Awith negative affect%2C migration grief and loss%2C and discrimination and were%0Anegatively associated with life satisfaction%2C positive affect%2C general%0Aself-efficacy%2C and social connection with mainstream society. Moreover%2C the%0ACCLS total and 2 subscale scores added significant incremental variance in%0Apredicting subjective well-being over and above related constructs. The results%0Aindicated measurement invariance and validity equivalency for the CCLS scores%0Abetween men and women.
