AB - The <i>Speak-Up-Check</i> (<i>S-U-C</i>) provides a measure for capturing the construct <i>collective speak-up behavior</i>. Collective speak-up behavior is defined as proactive team behavior that emphasizes the constructive challenging of the status quo, with an intent to improve rather than merely criticize the current situation (also referred to as <i>voice behavior</i>). The Speak-Up-Check shows very good psychometric properties. Substantial correlations with related team constructs indicate both, convergent construct validity and criterion validity of the instrument. The incremental validity of the Speak-Up-Check for predicting team creativity underscores the importance of speak-up behavior for team effectiveness.
